Does the directive affect all power tools to the same extent?
Vibration is often an inevitable by-product of the basic function and application of a hand held power tool. However, most power tools are not affected by the directive because either the measured vibration levels are very low or the actual operating time (trigger time) is quite short. Power tools with vibration levels that do not exceed 2.5 m/s² can generally be considered non-critical.
However, power tools such as angle grinders and rotary hammers, where the
vibration level is typically well in excess of 2.5m/s², might be affected by the directive, depending on the operator’s daily usage (trigger time).
