High drilling rate, long service life:
Bosch Hammers GBH 2-26 advance into new dimensions

· 100 000 holes in concrete with one hammer

· Up to 34 percent higher drilling rate

The new 2-kilo rotary hammers GBH 2-26 from Bosch advance into new dimensions where drilling performance and service life are concerned. With the 800-watt motor and many improvements in the impact mechanism, they provide a single impact energy of 3.0 Joules. The impact energy is transferred to the application tool at virtually zero loss. This makes work easier for the professional: The independent certification association "SLG Prüf- und Zertifizierungs-GmbH" has found that the GBH 2-26 hammers achieve a drilling rate up to 34 percent higher than that of comparable competitors' models in the 2 kilo class, measured when drilling with impact and 14-millimeter SDS-Plus drill bit in concrete of quality B25.

The new rotary hammers are also way ahead in the service life comparison. Bosch has increased the service life by 50 percent compared to the predecessor model: With a single GBH 2-26, the professional can drill up to 100 000 holes (10-millimeter diameter, 50-millimeter depth) in concrete. This increase has been achieved thanks to the improvements in the sealing system, in the motor cooling, in the gears, due to the reinforced hammer tube (larger locking surface in the toolholder).

However, if it should occur that the SDS toolholder breaks down, Bosch has a contingency plan. The toolholder on the new rotary hammer is, for the first time, designed as a changeable holder. The replacement procedure in the service workshop only takes about 15 minutes, the machine is then ready for operation again. For other models, the entire rotary hammer has to be dismantled to replace the holder, which is often an uneconomical process and spells the end of the machine's service life.
